But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
2 Peter 3:18 KJV
With all sincerity and genuineness from the depth of my heart, I would wish and pray that we grow in grace and knowledge of Christ this year and onwards.
Each day, I am more persuaded that life is spiritual. How we reign and have dominion on earth is mostly grounded on the knowledge we have of Christ. Knowledge comes in many forms. The word of God is a solid source of the Knowledge of Christ. The holyspirit also guides us into revelation, visions, and dreams that are sources of knowledge of Christ. As the word says “The spirit of truth will lead us to all truth.” Sermons, hymns, Christian songs… are also sources of Knowledge of Christ.
But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].
John 16:13 AMP
Grace and peace [that special sense of spiritual well-being] be multiplied to you in the [true, intimate] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
2 Peter 1:2-3 AMP
God has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness through the knowledge of Christ. Anything we need in life; for sustenance, advancement and so on – is in Christ.
That’s amongst the reasons Christ came down to earth. That you may live life to the fullest. Freedom and abundance can only be found IN CHRIST
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
John 10:10 AMP
Dominion and Reigning only occur in Christ. He has seated us in the heavenly realms.
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries:
but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Daniel 11:32 KJV
Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.
Isaiah 33:6 NKJV
When we know our saviour; his character and attitude, and conform to him, our lives transform.
There is a danger of doing the second thing as first. Let the first thing be first.
But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Matthew 6:33 AMP
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’’
For after all these things the Gentiles seek.
For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Matthew 6:31-32 NKJV
May we pursue God above everything else. Above our careers, marriages, ambitions….
Life starts with knowing Christ. When I read through Paul’s prayers’ I see a man who was rooted in Christ. He prayed for principal things that are the foundation of our life, being, existence, faith, and growth.
And now I commend you to God [placing you in His protective, loving care] and [I commend you] to the word of His grace [the counsel and promises of His unmerited favor]. His grace is able to build you up and to give you the [rightful] inheritance among all those who are sanctified [that is, among those who are set apart for God’s purpose—all believers].
Acts 20:32 AMP
Let us be intentional (diligent/earnest) seekers of God, his kingdom and righteousness. When we draw near to God, he will draw near to us. Sweet fellowship with God is something beautiful to behold. Let us exercise spiritual disciplines such as studying the bible, praying and fasting. May God’s Grace and love be multiplied to you!
